"Glenlo is a fabulous location for an intimate wedding. We had 20 guests for dinner in the Abbey, the food was delicious – the menu selection was well varied – and the service was discrete and efficient. We hardly noticed the staff topping up our wine glasses! In the evening we had a party in the Pavilion for over 100 people. Although there were other events on in the hotel we did not see any other activity so it led us to believe we had the place to ourselves. Anytime we dealt with Catherine and co. on the lead up to the wedding we were given lots of their time and helpful suggestions. All the guests at the evening party commented positively on the food – especially the mini burgers – and the cocktail reception went down a treat and was not too expensive. The bedrooms were lovely and as bride and groom we were treated royally. The staff were honest and helpful right up to checkout. It’s a beautiful hotel, ideal for photographs, and right at the edge of the city so comes highly recommended."

"Everything was perfect on the day, from the moment our guests arrived until we left the next day everything was wonderful. The attention to detail was brilliant, nobody had an empty glass as staff were always on hand with a refill, a lot of our guests have commented on the excellent level of service and how good the food was. On the day Eimear did a great job looking after us, we felt at ease the entire time as we were being looked after so well. So thank you very much for all the time you put in during the run up to the day and thanks to Eimear and all the staff at Glenlo for making our wedding day there a memorable one!!! "

"We had a wonderful wedding! Having our reception at the Glenlo Abbey was a great decision. The whole staff was so accommodating and we honestly felt like we could relax and enjoy ourselves. The morning after the wedding, we overslept and missed breakfast, but the front desk called and brought breakfast to our room. That was a very nice surprise. Eimear and her whole staff we always available to help meet the needs of all of our guests. The food was well prepared and delivered perfectly. "We were blown away with the day and the service from the Glenlo Abbey. From before we arrived to after we left, the service was second to none. There was nothing you could not do. You help us have the best day of our life to date. We felt, you looked after the very last detail, impeccably. Emer and Brian were amazing and did more than enough to make us both feel like royalty on the day. To put the icing on our cake so to speak!!, We requested a copy of the Galway Advertiser and the next day, Emer organised 10 copies to our suite. This was just an amazement for us - as we say - nothing was too much to ask for and this is just one of the many examples we have of every wish being delivered. Brian organised to record our speeches and we look forward to see the film! All our thank you cards have mentioned the hotel and the food. We got word from our guests that the wine glasses were kept nice and full and that the beef was mouth watering. We would recommend Glenlo to anyone for any event. Thanks,"

"What can I say. Firstly, thank you...to each and every member of staff in Glenlo Abbey. I have to say you all did a fantastic job. During the planning you were so easy to deal with, you never had George or I under any pressure to get things done, thank you. Also, thank you for lowing the rates it really was a nice treat for my family. The staff who worked on the 28/ Dec/ 2008, people are still commenting on your attention to detail, no one had to ask for anything. Their kindness and hard work was felt throughout the evening, I actually don't recall seeing them topping up my glass of wine that's how discreet they were. You have a great team of workers there, be proud. You all transformed that room for George and I. The venue was just beautiful. The chefs who worked on the 28/ Dec/ 2008, the food was superb (completements to the chef) I'm still hearing great reviews on the menu...the beef was A1. Dad had seconds as did many guests I believe. Last but not least the brains behind the whole operation. Banquet and conferencing: You brought that room to life for me, it was so special. IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE. Your caring, creativity, compassion and hard work made the evening so so special. We both felt very comfortable and did not once feel ignored, uncomforable, nor did we have an empty glass at any stage. "Firstly, we’d like to sincerely thank both yourself and Eimear for all the help you gave us with when we were preparing for the wedding. It seemed like nothing was a problem for you at all and that really added to our excitement and anticipation of the big day. We were delighted with everything on the wedding day, and again having both yourself and Eimear on hand made the day very easy for us as we didn’t have to stress about anything! True professionals!!! Both the bar downstairs and the reception room were presented beautifully which really added to the occasion. All of our guests lavished praise on the food, wine and the service which is something that was important to us. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the help of the Glenlo staff in creating the right atmosphere is a credit to the hotel. I’m recommending the hotel to anyone I know who hasn’t yet booked their wedding date and hotel so hopefully will put a bit more business the Glenlo’s way!
